Willard Mwanza, the goalkeeper for Power Dynamos, is confident that he would be included in the final team of the Chipolopolo boys who will compete for their nation in the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship, which is scheduled for next month.
Mwanza is a member of the 32-person preliminary team that Avram Grant called up for the competition, which Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda will co-host.
The team will begin its local camp on Sunday, before heading to East Africa for a pre-tournament camping.
The Chipolopolo boys will be making their fifth appearance at the CHAN tournament as they will be in search of their first trophy.
However, Mwanza’s outstanding performance in the 2024-25 season earned him recognition from the Chipolopolo technical bench.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mwanza expressed confidence making it to the final squad.
“I can’t fail to make it to the final list; I just have to make it to the final squad I will make sure I work hard so that am part of the team that will represent the Country at the tournament. It will be my first time playing at the CHAN tournament,” said Mwanza.

Zambia will open their campaign against DR Congo on August 7th, before meeting Angola three days later.
Thereafter, the Chipolopolo boys will face Morocco on 14th then conclude their group outings with hosts Kenya three days later.
