Heading into the game Comoros were looking to keep their faint hopes alive, however, fate was not theirs as they hoped that Ivory Coast will do them a favor by beating the Chipolopolo boys in Zambia.

Comoros beat Lesotho 0-1 in Saturday afternoon’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification Group H Match at Orlando Stadium in South Africa.

The Island nation broke the deadlock in the dying minutes of the game with Youssouf M’ Changame scoring to make it 1-0 to the visitors as they completed a double over Lesotho with a late goal.

Zambia managed to defeat Ivory Coast 3-0 at home to move into first place in Group H, killing the hopes of Comoros standing a chance to qualify.

Comoros will face already qualified Zambia at home in September this year, a match in which the Chipolopolo boys will seek to win to top group H while the home side with six points will be fighting for pride.

Meanwhile, Zambia moved top of Group H as they ended Ivory Coast’s unbeaten run record in the qualifying campaign to reach the continental tournament for the first time since 2015.

Heading into the game Comoros were looking to keep their faint hopes alive, however, fate was not entirely with them as they hoped that Ivory Coast will do them a favor by beating the Chipolopolo boys in Zambia.

Lesotho, on the other hand, finished last in their group with just a point and will play Ivory Coast in their last qualifying game.
