CAF has revealed that the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) continues to grow in global appeal, underlined by a record number of European broadcast agreements secured for the 2025 edition.
The African governing body has secured a record 20 media rights partnerships across more than 30 European territories for AFCON Morocco 2025, providing unprecedented exposure to millions of fans across Europe and the African diaspora.
The agreements reflect the tournament’s growing global appeal and commercial strength, showcasing the very best of African football talent and passion.
The deals include all 52 matches on free-to-air Channel 4 in the UK, a new agreement with Movistar in Spain, free-to-air coverage in Greece via ERT, and Norway’s VGTV for the first time.
CAF highlighted that the Spanish partnership is expected to draw strong audiences due to the country’s significant Moroccan diaspora and deep ties between CAF AFCON and Spanish football.
Established partners such as Sport Italia, Ziggo, and SportDigital will continue coverage in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, targeting high viewership in these regions.
CAF said these expanded broadcast arrangements are a major step forward in its strategy to grow the reach, visibility, and value of African football worldwide, while further engaging both mainstream European audiences and Africa’s global diaspora.
