BolaNews rates the Zambian players in that match:

Jeban Tembo (5/10)

The Zambian shot-stopper made superb saves to deny Benin the goals. But he could have done better with the conceded goal by organizing his defense well.

Lombe Mutale (7/10)

Started on a slow note but he recovered and grow into the game as he was able to handle the threats thrown at him.

Happy Nsiku ( 5/10)

Didn’t have much impact on the game and was beaten on a number of occasions.

Gift Mphande (8/10)

He was solid in his defensive duties and composed, arguably the best player on the night for Zambia.

Amon Chulu (7/10)

He was another player who was solid and composed. Chulu did not lose the ball easily and was also brilliant in helping the team recover the ball.

Dominic Kanda (4/10)

The Zambian captain was at his usual best on the night. Wasteful possession didn’t have so much impact on the game

Julius Kumwenda (5/10)

Failed to live up to the expectation and didn’t have so impact on the game.

Charles Mumba Majapa ( 3/10)

Failed to play to his high standards, easily lost possession, and probably explains why he was replaced at half-time.

Chipoyoka Songa (4/10)

The Zambian tricky winger was a disappointment on the night. Wasteful and easily lost possession. He was subsequently taken off at half-time.

Derick Bulaya ( 6/10)

Provided the assist for the goaNg’ambi’s goal and kept the Benin defense busy with his runs.

Peter Chikola ( 6/10)

He was one of the active players on the night and kept the Benin defense busy with his impressive runs.

SUBSTITUTES ( ZAMBIA )

Rickson Ng’ambi (8/10)

Rescued a point for Zambia with the all-important goal of the game, which saw the team look rejuvenated and push for the second goal that unfortunately never came.

Emmanuel Mukosha ( 6/10)

Added some energy in the game which subsequently led to the goal

Kingston Mutandwa ( 4/10)

Didn’t see much action in the game, but he brought some renewed energy into the game.

COACH

Chisi Mbewe (6/10)

Benin easily figured Zambia out and didn’t allow them to play their passing game. But his half-time substitutions proved the difference in the game.
