The battle lines have been drawn between Zesco United and Konkola Blades ahead of their ABSA Cup quarterfinal clash at Arthur Davies Stadium, with coaches from both sides anticipating an entertaining game.
Beston Chambeshi, the Konkola Blades coach, said his side is a household name in Zambian football history and is determined to go toe to toe against another giant, Zesco United.
“We are ready to meet them [Zesco]. Every team in Zambia wants to play Zesco because they have a name in this cup, and we are happy as a team to meet Zesco. I am sure Zesco are looking forward to meeting us as well,” Chambeshi said.
Chambeshi continued, “We are a big team in Zambia, so the game is going to be exciting and entertaining for the spectators.”
His opposite number, Emmanuel Siwale, also said the game will be tough.
“Konkola has history behind it. It is not a small team, and reaching this far means we are at par in this tournament. It is going to be competitive, exciting, and very tactical. I know him [Chambeshi]; we have been together for a long time, and that makes it exciting,” Siwale said.
