After helping his team secure a place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 ABSA Cup, Green Eagles goalkeeper Given Kaambila has revealed that his main goal is to win the Golden Glove award.
Green Eagles advanced to the next round after edging Prison Leopards 4-2 on penalties in their Round of 16 clash.
The former Kabwe Warriors shot-stopper delivered an outstanding performance and was named Man of the Match after making two crucial saves during the shootout, ensuring his side’s progression in the competition.
Speaking exclusively to BolaNews, Kaambila expressed his ambitions for individual glory.
“I want to win the Golden Glove award; I believe it’s possible. I’ve been putting in the hard work and finally the results are coming,” he said. “I will keep pushing because I know anything is possible if only you believe. We may be struggling in the league; I think am highly motivated this time around and I see myself winning the award at the end of the tournament.”
Kaambila also voiced his confidence in Green Eagles’ chances of going all the way in the competition.
“We are winning it; last time we were knocked out, but I think the team has prepared well this time and looks better than the previous appearance,” he said.
This marks Kaambila’s second appearance in the ABSA Cup, and he is hopeful of delivering a stronger performance this time around.
Green Eagles will face defending champions Red Arrows in the quarterfinals on Sunday, April 13, at Nkoloma Stadium.
The Choma-based side will be aiming to reach the final and clinch their first-ever ABSA Cup title.
