Kabwe Warriors assistant coach Chintu Kampamba says his side is not concerned about the current performance of their opponents ahead of their ABSA Cup last eight tie.
Warriors will play Power Dynamos in the quarterfinal match at Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday in an attempt to win their first ABSA Cup title.
After nearly winning their first ABSA Cup last year, the 2024 ABSA Cup losing finalists are hoping for a stronger showing this time around.
Warriors who suffered a 1-0 defeat in their midweek fixture against Zesco United will seeking to make amends against an in-form Power Dynamos side.
Speaking in an interview, Kampamba feels the team has prepared adequately to compete this time around.
“We have prepared well for our quarter finals so we hope to go past this then we will see what happens next. There is no right or wrong time for meeting a team, this is the right time,” he said.
“We acknowledge that Power Dynamos are in good form, but we are also prepared. A Cup game comes in different ways, it is the energy that you bring,” added Kampamba.
Meanwhile, Kabwe Warriors captain Clement Mundia said the team is ready to make it up for last year’s ABSA Cup final defeat to Red Arrows.
“We just have to go out there and enjoy the game. Moreover, we were in the final last season, we have to go with full force and give ourselves chance to play in the final,” Mundia said.
