Following Nkana and Zesco United’s progression to the ABSA Cup semifinals after respective victories over Kansanshi Dynamos and Konkola Blades on Saturday, defending champions Red Arrows also booked their spot with a 3-1 win over Green Eagles on Sunday at Nkoloma Stadium.
Walford Sikanyika and Michee Malonga were on target for the Arrows, with Malonga sealing the win from the penalty spot late in the game. Green Eagles’ only goal came courtesy of Simon Mulenga, who also converted from the spot.
In the other quarterfinal clash played at the same venue, last year’s runners-up Kabwe Warriors were eliminated by Super League leaders Power Dynamos, who claimed a convincing 2-0 victory. Eddie Ankobo was the hero for Power, scoring both goals to keep Oswald Mutapa’s side on track as they look to replicate their historic 2011 double-winning season.
With the semifinal lineup now complete, Red Arrows will face Power Dynamos on 26 April 2025, while six-time champions Zesco United will take on Nkana on the 27th April 2025. The venue for the semifinal matches is yet to be announced.
The grand final is scheduled for 10 May 2025, with the eventual winners set to walk away with a whopping K1 million in prize money.
