Egypt, Morocco seal 2024 Paris Olympics qualification

Egypt and Morocco stormed the U-23 AFCON final to secure 2024 Olympic Games qualification.

Egypt and Morocco have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics after beating Guinea and Mali respectively on Tuesday at the ongoing U-23 Africa Cup of Nations which is being used as a qualifier for the global multisport event.

The Egyptians beat Guinea 1-0 while Morocco overcame Mali 4-3 on post-match penalties after drawing 2-2 in the Semifinals.

Egypt and Morocco will now battle for the African crown in the final scheduled for Saturday in Rabat.

Meanwhile, Guinea and Mali will contend for the third Paris Olympic slot in the third-place play-off on Friday in Tangier.

Egypt will be making their 14th appearance at the Olympics, while Morocco will be appearing for the ninth time.

The two will seek to replicate the performances of Nigeria and Cameroon who are the only African teams to win gold medals at the Olympics.

The Paris Olympics will take place from 26 July to 11 August 2024 .
