Power Dynamos announced in January 2023, that they had signed Zimbabwean striker Thomas Chideu from Ndola-based team Forest Rangers to a one-and-a-half-year contract.
In addition to the Zimbabwean sides Highlanders FC, Platinum FC, and Bulawayo Stars FC, Chideu has also played for the South African teams Ajax Cape Town and Golden Arrows FC.
Since teaming up with the league’s top scorer, Andy Boyile, he has netted four goals for Dynamos. The Super League title is the first for Chideu since arriving in Zambia from Harare City.
“I am happy, and it’s good to represent my country in Zambia and to be a champion as well. I’m hopeful that I will get a national team call-up with the Warriors,” he said.
The Zimbabwean disclosed that the reception from everyone at Arthur Davis Stadium made it simple for him to adapt to Kitwe.
“So far so good, and the towns are so close here, so there is not much difference and the supporters, the players, so I’m happy to be here,” he explained.
Chideu has also encouraged his countrymen to consider joining the Zambian Super League, which he describes as competitive.
“I will encourage them to come to Zambia because it’s a strong and competitive league to play in.”
