Sergio Busquets will leave Barcelona at the end of the season, marking an end to a highly successful era at the Spanish giant.
The Spaniard disclosed this on Wednesday this week, saying he will put an end to 15 seasons as a Barcelona player at the club.
Busquets said that the moment has arrived to announce that this was his last season at Barcelona.
“The time has come to declare that this will be my final campaign with Barcelona. According to Busquets on Instagram, the journey has been unforgettable.
And a number of football players around the World have paid tribute to the Barcelona legend. Paris Saint-Germaine forward Lionel Messi wrote on Instagram and thanked him for everything on and off the pitch.
“On the pitch you were always No 5, but in reality as a player and as a person, you are a 10, Busi, Thank you for everything on and off the pitch.” he wrote on Instagram
Barcelona defender Jordi Alba also paid tribute to the Barcelona legend.
“My friend, after so much we have lived through together, what can I say that you don’t know, You are leaving your home, having made an indelible imprint on Barcelona’s history. more than 700 games and a fundamental part of so many titles, and glorious nights that all Barca fans will forever remember,” Wrote Alba on Instagram.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric said on social media that Busquets is one of the best midfielders he has played against. “One of the best midfielders I have ever played against. it was a pleasure.” he said.
Where is Sergio heading to after Barcelona?
He won the Champions League three times with Barcelona and La Liga on eight occasions. and he is expected to win another league title this season.
Busquets is third on Barcelona’s all-time appearance list, featuring for the club on 718 occasions and lifting 31 trophies.
He also won the World Cup in 2010 and the European championship in 2012, a key member of the national team for nearly 15 years until he retired in December.
The 34-year-old has not said his next destination, but media reports suggest that he might be heading to Saudi Arabia.
