The Brave Warriors of Namibia recorded their biggest victory ever after defeating five times African Champions, Cameroon 2-1 at the Dobsonville stadium in South Africa.

After an even first half, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile scored in the 55th minute in the 18-yard box to put Namibia ahead.

He also extended his all-time international goal tally for Namibia to 15 goals.

The Brave Warriors won a free kick on the edge of the box 24 minutes later, and midfielder Absolon Limbondi made no mistake in slotting home the second goal for the Southern African side.

With only injury time left to play, Vincent Aboubakar pulled one back from a loose ball inside the box in the 91st minute.

Namibia faced Cameroon in the AFCON qualifiers for the fourth time. They have now broken the Indomitable Lions’ unbeaten streak against them.

Previously Cameroon defeated Namibia twice and only recorded a draw last Friday but all that is now history.

Namibia now leads Group C with 5 points, while Cameroon drops to second with 4 points. Burundi is at rock bottom, with only one point and two games in hand.

A draw between Cameroon and Burundi in June will confirm the Brave warriors’ qualification. If the result in that match goes otherwise, Namibia will need just a point to qualify.

They last appeared at the nations cup finals in 2019 which was held in Egypt and are eager to make a grand return.
