Mufulira Wanderers head coach Lameck Banda believes his side did not deserve to lose 1-0 to Green Buffaloes in a Week Six MTN Super League Transitional League encounter at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
Banda has attributed the defeat to his team’s poor conversion rate, saying Wanderers created more scoring opportunities than their opponents but failed to make them count.
The loss was Wanderers’ second consecutive defeat, following a 1-0 home loss to Chirundu United in Week Five.
Speaking after the match, Banda expressed disappointment with the result, insisting that his team had done enough to get something from the encounter.
“It’s worrisome” – Banda.
“Very disappointing, and for me, I think it’s not a game that we should even have lost,” Banda said.
“We created more chances than Buffaloes, and Buffaloes just had one, and they converted, and here we are, we lost.”
The coach admitted that his side’s inability to turn chances into goals was becoming a concern but said the technical bench would continue searching for solutions as they seek to improve their attacking output.

“It’s worrisome, but we just need to find a solution because we cannot run away from the fact that we are not converting those chances we create,” he said.
Banda also pointed to a lack of composure and maturity in front of goal, arguing that better decision-making in the penalty area would help the team become more clinical.
“I think the composure and also lack of maturity, because if we are composed in the box with those chances that we create, we’ll be able to score more goals,” he said.
The result leaves Mufulira Wanderers rock bottom with two points from five matches of the transitional league campaign, having suffered three defeats in Stream B.
