Kings Kangwa scored his first goal for Panathinaikos as the Greek giants continued their perfect start to the Super League season with a 3-1 victory over Kifisia on Thursday night.
The Zambia international’s goal means he has now been directly involved in two consecutive goals for Panathinaikos, having provided an assist in their previous match against PAOK Thessaloniki.
Panathinaikos have won all three of their opening league matches and sit top of the Super League table with nine points.
Kangwa has already made a strong impression since joining the Greek giants from Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva on a four-year contract in July. The transfer was reportedly worth €4 million.
The 26-year-old midfielder has played a key role in all three of Panathinaikos’ victories, underlining his importance to the team early in the season.
Kangwa was instrumental in Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s title-winning campaign last season, contributing 12 goals and 11 assists in all competitions and earning the Israel Best Player Award.
He scored 29 goals and provided 19 assists in 89 appearances for Be’er Sheva during his two seasons in Israel.
Panathinaikos finished fourth in the Greek Super League last season and are also competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.
