Eunice Sakala, Indeni Roses goalkeeper is targeting a place in the final squad for the Copper Queens prior to the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) later this year.
The 2026 Morocco WAFCON tournament will run from 17th March to 3rd April. The tournament serves as a qualifier for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Sakala, recently returned to the team in a week nine fixture after an eight-game absence after an injury.
The Roses shot-stopper has kept five clean sheets in nine games, conceding only four goals.
Sakala’s experience has helped Indeni Roses record vital wins, including saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet in the match involving Kamfinsa and keeping another clean sheet against Luyando girls.
The Indeni Roses goalkeeper will be hoping to make it in the final squad that will be heading to Morocco.
Speaking in an interview, Sakala revealed that she is working hard to earn a place in the Copper Queens squad.

“It’s always a great feeling to play regularly. I have my sights set on returning to the National team ahead of the WAFCON this year,” she said.
Tournament semi-finalist secure automatic qualification for the World Cup.
“The more I play, the more I can demonstrate my abilities to the national coaches, and I will continue to work hard on the pitch,” Sakala added.
