Champions League: PSG, Inter, and Arsenal Stay Perfect as Barcelona Hits Six

Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, and Arsenal all moved level on a perfect nine points with convincing victories on Tuesday night, while Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven each scored six in a thrilling night of UEFA Champions League action. Across all matches, an impressive 43 goals lit up Europe.

Paris Saint-Germain 7–2 Bayer Leverkusen

Player of the Match: Nuno Mendes (Paris)

Holders Paris Saint-Germain produced a stunning attacking display at the BayArena, powered by Ousmane Dembélé’s scoring return from injury. Both teams were reduced to ten men in a frenetic first half, but PSG dominated possession with over 70%, controlling the game from start to finish.

Willian Pacho opened the scoring for Leverkusen, but Désiré Doué struck either side of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s effort. In the second half, Nuno Mendes, Dembélé, and Vitinha added goals, while Aleix García’s double offered little consolation for the hosts.

Barcelona 6–1 Olympiacos

Player of the Match: Fermín López (Barcelona)

Barcelona earned an emphatic first home win of the season. Fermín López hit a hat-trick, while Marcus Rashford scored twice in a 12-minute blitz. Lamine Yamal also scored from a penalty as Barça raced to a 2-0 half-time lead. Olympiacos briefly pulled one back through Ayoub El Kaabi’s penalty, but Santiago Hezze’s second yellow card ended their resistance.

Arsenal 4–0 Atlético Madrid

Player of the Match: Viktor Gyökeres

Arsenal continued their perfect start with a dominant 4–0 win at the Emirates Stadium. Gabriel headed in Declan Rice’s free-kick to break the deadlock shortly before the hour. Gabriel Martinelli added a second, while Viktor Gyökeres completed a quickfire double to seal a statement victory for the Gunners.

Copenhagen 2–4 Borussia Dortmund

Player of the Match: Felix Nmecha

Felix Nmecha scored twice as Dortmund secured a 4–2 victory in Denmark. Nmecha’s opener was canceled out by Waldemar Anton’s own goal, but Dortmund regained control through Ramy Bensebaini’s penalty and Nmecha’s second before Fábio Silva added a fourth. Viktor Dadason scored a stoppage-time consolation for the hosts.

Newcastle 3–0 Benfica

Player of the Match: Anthony Gordon

Newcastle secured back-to-back wins with a pulsating 3–0 victory over Benfica at St James’ Park. Anthony Gordon opened the scoring, Harvey Barnes doubled the lead from a long throw, and then completed the scoring after an assist from Gordon, leaving Benfica still searching for their first point in the group stage.

PSV Eindhoven 6–2 Napoli

Player of the Match: Dennis Man

PSV got their group-stage campaign underway in style with a 6–2 victory over Napoli. Despite Scott McTominay giving the visitors an early lead, PSV responded through an own goal by Alessandro Buongiorno and an Ismael Saibari strike to lead at the break. Dennis Man’s double, along with goals from Ricardo Pepi and Couhaib Driouech, secured a memorable win.

Inter Milan 4–0 Union SG

Player of the Match: Denzel Dumfries

Inter Milan withstood early pressure to maintain their perfect start in style. Denzel Dumfries opened the scoring from a corner, Lautaro Martínez curled in the second, Hakan Çalhanoğlu converted a penalty, and Pio Esposito added his first Champions League goal to secure a comfortable 4–0 victory.

Villarreal 0–2 Manchester City

Player of the Match: Savinho

Manchester City ended a five-match road winless run in Europe with a 2–0 victory over Villarreal. Erling Haaland scored his 12th consecutive goal for club and country, followed by Bernardo Silva’s emphatic header. Villarreal went close late on, but Tani Oluwaseyi was denied by the post.

Tuesday’s matches reaffirmed the dominance of Europe’s top sides, with PSG, Inter, and Arsenal maintaining perfect records while Barcelona and PSV demonstrated their attacking firepower. The group stage continues to promise high-scoring thrills as teams fight for a place in the knockout rounds.
