Newly signed Tanzanian striker Yusuph Shabani Athuman says he is determined to help Napsa Stars compete for titles and return to continental football.
Napsa Stars confirmed the capture of the young forward from FC West Armenia, with Athuman penning a two-year deal with the Pensioners.
The Tanzanian striker brings valuable experience, having previously featured for Tanzanian giants Yanga SC. He is expected to strengthen the Lusaka-based side’s attack and play a key role in helping them secure their first victory of the season.
Speaking to the media, Athuman pledged to fight for silverware with his new club.
“To help Napsa fight for titles, compete strongly in domestic and deliver a spot to play in the international competitions, without forgetting bringing pride to the fans,” he said.
He also revealed his personal ambitions.
“To keep developing as a player, contribute consistently on the field and establish myself as one of the top professionals in my position,” added the striker.
Meanwhile, Napsa Stars sit 16th on the table with just two points from three matches, having recorded two draws and one defeat. The Pensioners will face Power Dynamos in their next Super League fixture after the international break.
