Chipolopolo playmaker Kings Kangwa was the star of the show yet again, scoring and assisting for Hapoel Be’er Sheva as they massacred Kiryat Shmona 5-1 on Saturday.

He has since become the first Hapoel Be’er Sheva player to be directly involved in 10 or more league goals this season, netting five and assisting another five.

In Turkey, Copper Queens defender Martha Tembo has opened her scoring account for Hakkarigucu Spor. The fullback’s 26th minute goal inspired the hosts to a 2-0 victory against Amed SK. Together with her compatriot Lushomo Mweemba, Tembo kept her fourth cleansheet of the 2024-25 league season.

Daka, Mwepu feature off the bench

Patson Daka played half an hour on Saturday, coming off the bench for a Leicester City outfit that lost 4-0 to Newcastle. Meanwhile, Francisco Mwepu made an 18th-minute cameo for Cadiz, who defeated Albacete 1-0.

Joseph Sabobo Banda was a late substitute for FC Zurich in their 2-0 loss to St. Gallen. Kingston Mutandwa was benched by Cagliari Calcio in Italy as he continues to await his first Serie A appearance since October.

Kennedy, Chama avoid another Champions League defeat, Joshua Mutale takes to the field.

Chipolopolo marksman Kennedy Musonda started for Young Africans SC in their 1-1 draw with TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League. His countryman, Clatous Chota Chama, entered the fray in the 77th minute as the Tanzanian champions forced a late equalizer.

Joshua Mutale was a 64th-minute substitute for Simba SC, who came from behind to beat CS Sfaxien 2-1 in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Chibwe out with neck injury, Mwape Musonda scores

In the South African second tier, Zambian goalkeeper Cyril Chibwe was unavailable for the Black Leopards at the weekend due to a neck injury, while Mwape Musonda netted a late goal.

Having recently returned from injury, Gampani Lungu earned his first start of the campaign for Supersport United in the Premier Soccer League. Meanwhile, Moyela Libamba featured as a late substitute for Golden Arrows.

Mphande notches cleansheet, Frankie Musonda rested.

Gift Mphande registered a cleansheet in Hapoel Rishon Lezion’s 1-0 win at Hapoel Um El Fahem. Songa Chipyoka started for Hapoel Petah Tikva, who suffered their second defeat in a row.

In Scotland, Ayr United did not summon Frankie Musonda from the substitutes bench in their resounding 5-2 triumph against Falkirk. Likewise, Benson Sakala watched from the dugout as Mlada Boleslav lost 3-1 to Sigma Olomouc in the Czech topflight.

Meanwhile, Lubambo Musonda, Miguel Chaiwa and Lameck Banda did not participate in the weekend’s action owing to long-term injuries.
